Q2 Adds Another Voice: Olivia Marlowe Giovetti
Well, she is not brandy new. Ms Giovetti has been the host of The New Canon for a little while now. But for the moment, she will be hosting Nadia Sirota on Q2. As you will see below in Nadia’s post, her career as a violist is becoming busier. We celebrate her success. Nadia has a unique voice and approach to presenting music. She is missed whenever she is otherwise occupied. But Olivia Giovetti is worthy (remember Garth on SNL? “I’m not worthy”? Ms Giovetti is definitely worthy).
Olivia Marlowe Giovetti.
So, here is Nadia:
“Mania-inducing it may be, but there’s something super satisfying about being ridiculously busy. Yesterday, I flew back to NYC from a really lovely set of shows in the Twin Cities as part or their String Theory Festival, then almost IMMEDIATELY proceeded to a recording studio where my group yMusic began to get sounds for our debut record. YAY!
Next week, we’ll all move recording venues to record a new album with the fabulous singer and composer Shara Worden. I am really excited for all of these projects, but sadly, days have these pesky 24-hour cycles, and I can’t make radio this week. Luckily, you will be left in the extremely capable hands of Olivia Marlowe Giovetti (that’s OMG), host of our fab new show The New Canon, on Mondays at 10 a.m. as well as writer for our active opera blog, WQXR-Aria.
Olivia is a wonderful thinker and talker and consumer of music, and I’m so excited to have her on the show.
Let’s all welcome Olivia, and I’ll see you guys soon!
